California Wine Institute

Multi-Pavillion Island

The Wine Institute is the voice for many diverse California wine regions representing more than 1,000 wineries and affiliated businesses throughout the state. Their participation in VinExpo, one of largest exhibitions for the wine and spirits industry held in Hong Kong for the last 10 years, provides a great opportunity to further their mission. Vinexpo Bordeaux is a springboard onto the international scene, exclusively for wine and spirits professionals. This event boasts an interactive format that lasts four days and includes valuable time for meetings, discoveries and networking opportunities among the major players from all over the world.

Poretta & Orr was tasked with creating an environment that included 3 pavilions and over 25 individual vintners, as well as ample opportunity to promote their brands while collectively promoting the California wine industry. No small feat. Working closely with the vintners to ensure their satisfaction was key.

As might be expected the sheer magnitude of the space required a number of unique features to be included. A dedicated booth seminar space for live seminars was an important element to provide educational opportunities. As well, a full kitchen was required, as were ample number of meeting rooms within the pavilions to allow for discussions with interested parties.

We created a large scale environment that was equally as beautiful as it was functional. The space needed to impress high profile wine buyers and provide a memorable and stunning environment. This was another instance where Poretta & Orr’s full-line of services included design, fabrication and on-site services management. Understanding that a pavilion is not a typical exhibit space, and requires understanding the needs of many while promoting a cohesive message.
