The Wine Institute is the voice for many diverse California wine regions representing more than 1,000 wineries and affiliated businesses throughout the state. Their participation in VinExpo, one of largest exhibitions for the wine and spirits industry held in Hong Kong for the last 10 years, provides a great opportunity to further their mission. Vinexpo Bordeaux is a springboard onto the international scene, exclusively for wine and spirits professionals. While in Hong Kong, Poretta & Orr produced a private wine tasting event for 150 high profile wine buyers in the region.
California Wine Institute partnered with the California Tourist Association to advance the industry’s interests through advocacy, collaboration, and education. As a result, Poretta & Orr was created and event that complimented this mission.
A panel of 4 wine experts, including both sommeliers and wine authors, were brought on stage to do a live wine tasting. This provided an opportunity to show case various wines and what could have been a bland forum was turned into a meaningful and relevant experiential event. The live interaction and feedback of industry experts kept the wine buyers engaged and interested.
